Little is known about Grant’s childhood and formative years. He started work as a plumber, but from an early age he had shown interest in arts, spending hours and hours writing and drawing role-playing game characters, and soon expanded his interest to work in web design, and that is how he met Jason Hawes, his future colleague. Hawes asked Wilson to redesign the website Rhode Island Paranormal Society (RIPS), which was intended for people who had experienced paranormal events at some point of their lives.

Wilson was also one of them; starting when he was 15 years old, Grant first felt and saw a paranormal entity in the woods in Rhode Island. They searched for paranormal sightings throughout the USA, and soon launched their first show, “Ghost Hunters” (2004-2014). Grant stayed on the show until 2012, when he left citing personal matters. However, he returned in 2014 for the 200th episode.

From 2008 until 2009 he featured in “Ghost Hunter International”, in which the crew visited sites of paranormal sightings throughout the world, including Latvia, Spain, England, Italy and Romania, among other destinations.

In 2009 he also participated in another paranormal series – “Destination Truth” – next to Josh Gates, Gabriel Copeland and Mike Morrell. His net worth was growing slowly.

After leaving Ghost Hunters in 2012, Grant focused on other ventures, including high-fantasy novels, and also starting the game development company Rather Dashing Games. He serves as the Vice-President of the company, and also as Art Director and Developer, and its success has contributed to his net worth too.

Together with Jason Hawes, Grant has authored several books, including the “Ghost Hunting: True Stories of Unexplained Phenomena from The Atlantic Paranormal Society” (2007), “Seeking Spirits: The Lost Cases of The Atlantic Paranormal Society” (2009), “Ghost Trackers: A Novel” (2011), “Ghost Town: A Novel” (2012), among others, the sales of which have certainly added to his net worth.
